Sound effects & field recordings

for AI data buyers via Troveo

The brief

Buyers are sourcing recorded sound effects — foley, impacts, machines, doors, footsteps, weather, room tones, nature ambiences. If you own a decent mic and a quiet space (or a loud, interesting one), this is very accessible.

What gets licensed first:

  • Themed batches: 20+ takes around one subject ("kitchen drawer opens/closes — 15 variations") beat scattered one-offs
  • Clean recordings: low noise floor, no clipping, a beat of silence before and after each take
  • Raw-ish files: trim and fade only — no reverb, compression or EQ baked in
  • Names that describe the sound: door_wood_creak_slow_01.wav, not REC0047.wav

Rights: everything must be recorded by you. No library sounds, no game/film audio re-records, and be careful with ambiences — avoid intelligible speech and recognizable music bleeding into the recording.

Requirements

Sound effects
  • 48kHz / 24-bit WAV minimum (96kHz welcome for designed-sound source)
  • Clean noise floor, no clipping, silence padding around each take
  • No processing beyond trim/fade — no reverb, EQ or compression
  • Descriptive file names + themed zip batches (20+ takes per batch preferred)
  • Recorded by you; no intelligible speech or copyrighted music in ambiences

What your footage trains

Labeled, clean effect recordings train audio-generation and sound-understanding models — variation-rich batches of a single subject are the most useful shape of data.
